Parish Governance

According to Diocesan Canon, the members of the Vestry shall be the Trustees of the parish corporation. For more information on the Canons, scroll to the bottom of this page. St. Michael's sends eight elected delegates to the annual Diocese of Kansas convention. These delegates also participate in Northeast Convocation meetings. The Constitution and Canons of the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas

The constitution and canons are the documents that govern the workings of parishes and entities within the diocese. Each document has been adopted by action of the Diocesan Convention and can be amended only by vote of convention. See this link for the complete canons. Canon's IV.4 and IV.5 apply to the governance of a parish by the vestry.
