“Lespuwa fe viv” - Hope makes us live.

Since 1984, St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church has been blessed to have a relationship with the people in rural southwest Haiti through our partner parish, St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Torbeck. The current priest at St. Paul's is Father Jean Alphonse.

The main focus of our partnership is St. Paul's Episcopal School in Torbeck, which provides education to over 200 children each year. St. Michael's is the sole source of support for this elementary school. We provide funding to pay the teachers' salaries, maintain the facilities, and provide school supplies and worm tablets for the students - to name a few of the areas of support. While our school was not devastated in the recent earthquake in Haiti, there was some damage to three of the classrooms. We have sent relief money to make these repairs, as well as repairs to St. Paul's rectory.

In these pictures you can see Father Alphonse addressing a parent meeting, the students in their uniforms lining up to attend school, and books that were purchased by a generous St. Michael's donor to start a school library.

Your support and prayers make all the difference in the world to these students. Thank you!
