Dear Friends in Faith,
To belong to a church is a process of mutual choosing, the seeker and the congregation discerning a call to be one in the Body of Christ. The resulting relationship is an intentional Christian community inhabited by people who desire to put the teachings of Jesus Christ into practice. What is it that Jesus asks of us? To become people of prayer, people who study the scriptures and engage in practices of confession, forgiveness, and reconciliation as though our very lives depend on it. With God’s help and with the companionship of our faith community, we can learn to live differently from the way in which the world encourages us to live, fearful of difference and competing for resources. Jesus offers us another way. We can be people who flourish in our close relationships and people who reach out to those who suffer.
On behalf of the staff and clergy of St. Michael’s, I bid you welcome in the name of our Savior, Christ Jesus! It is our privilege to offer you this Ministry Catalog as a tool to help you learn about life at St. Michael’s and the ways in which our members are growing as disciples. We are committed to helping you grow spiritually and to serve faithfully in witness of Christ’s love.
Within these pages you will find information on a myriad of opportunities for joining in worship, service, education, and fellowship. Read it with care. My staff and I want to assist you in learning more about St. Michael’s and ultimately more about yourself and your relationship with God. One thing I can assure you; you will find a place where you can share of yourself and of your gifts with which you have been blessed by God. Please do not hesitate to let us know how we may be of service,
Faithfully,
The Rev. Gail Greenwell
Rector, St. Michael and All Angels
The mission of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church is to gather as an inclusive community of Christ, celebrating scripture, tradition, and reason, and send forth disciples with a lifelong commitment to service, spiritual growth, and faithful witness of Christ’s love.
The vision of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church is to be a welcoming community where all are invited to worship, challenged to grow in Christ, inspired to serve, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to reflect God’s love into the world.
